Hi,

I've been reading the forums for some time and decided to join up.

I have been shooting since 70's and always have had a soft spot for single actions, probably because dad took me from very early age to see cowboy movies? ;) When I was under age to own a gun I frequented a gun shop to look at the Ruger Single Six, I thought it was the greatest thing ever. And years later I finally bought one. And then couple of others too. I reload most of my ammo and hunt sometimes.

From top:
- 1997 Super BlackHawk Bisley .44Mag, which I converted to SBH configuration after I realized I do not like the Bisley ergonomics. Still has the Bisley engraved cylinder though. Oversize base pin, Wolff springs.
- 1999 Vaquero .45LC with brass grip frame, slicked action, oversize basepin, Wolff springs, modded front sight, reamed cylinder.
- 1984 BlackHawk .357Mag. Steel grip frame from the Vaquero, oversize base pin, Wolff springs, steel ejector rod housing. And I think I put a new ss trigger into it too.
- 1992 Single Six .22LR/.22Mag. Slicked action, Wolf springs.

I also sometimes shoot BP. Never was able to find an Old Army as they are ultra rare here. So, I bough the next best thing ie. Hege-Uberti Remington 1858. It has a better barrell and a trigger job. Very nice to shoot.

So, thanks for the forums and thanks in advance for any advice you might give me in the future!

Best regards,
Toni

Welcome to a great Forum ! Lots of knowledge here. You have a fine collection of revolvers. Like your Uberti also. Once you are here for awhile (30 days & 15 posts needed) put a “want to buy” post in the classifieds for and Old Army. That is, if you are allowed to import one ?

Hey @Toni welcome to Ruger Forum! What your favorite cowboy movie? Share more in the forum so members can see your collection. Looks awesome by the way.

Yes, I am allowed to import but I think it's American export regulations and mandatory export licensing that will make it too difficult these days. Sometime when war on terror started new classifications and regulations made even Ruger single action parts dangerous assault stuff that needs special expensive licenses which were part (not order) specific so it all became economically unviable. Sellers and vendors often didn't want to get them even if I was willing to pay for it.

I had a business account at Brownells back in the day but then they founded local branches to European countries with 5% selection and 300% prices so that possibility was killed too. Nowadays I can only get springs and some odd parts like a ejector rod in stainless etc. through the local Brownells. Single actions and Rugers are quite rare here so slim chance of finding anything locally.

It has all gone quite difficult. :(

I'll have to look wider into EU countries and try to find stuff there. I did import the Uberti and the paperwork was much easier as its the same in every country.

What your favorite cowboy movie?
Hmm... hard to say. There are many westerns I have enjoyed over the years. When I was kid it was probably Rio Bravo. Later on probably some of Clints old Italo westerns? The good, the bad and the ugly is good. Lee van Cleef's Remington is probably the one reason I bought mine. In wider aspect I also liked The Man called Horse, Little Big Man and more recently Django Unchained.

BTW. I also have couple of lever action rifles to go with my Rugers. ;) A Win 94 .44Mag and a Marlin 1895GS 45/70.

That was a very nice introduction.

We are often ignorant of firearms ownership throughout the world. You have a very respectable collection of revolvers. (y)

Welcome from Oregon to the Ruger Forum!

Hey OP, greetings from Czech Republic, nice to see someone from our side of the water here. I sold my Old Army a year ago, too bad. They¨re not really common here, but can be seen now and then. Perhaps I could help you.

Well I've got about 10 Finish Mosin Rifles of different years, arsenals. M27, M28-30, M91, M91-30 with Sako, Valmet, Tikka barrels.
Excellent craftsmanship and very accurate. You kicked Russian ass with those rifles.
Yeah, I have one too, I think it is a M27. Good rifle. While I was visiting Houston in business I bought a riflescope and traded it with my father in law for the Tikka M27. 😂

Most of my family was in the war against ruskies, women too. Our family lands from my grandmothers (dads mother) side were lost to commies in that skirmish called the continuation war.
