I believe that their range is not very wide, but we have quite a few of those in the brushy parts of our area. Where exactly did you photograph that one?
Doc! That's a great picture! That is one great lens that you have and you sure know how to use it. That photo has the perfect bokeh that all pros hope to get when they take that type of picture. Great job, keep them coming.
About sixteen miles or so from me. Maybe you can get into the thick brush and close to and photograph a Chachalaca, not as colorful as the Green Jay, but really beautiful birds.
I've "shot" chachalacas. But not with a camera. All dark meat. In Baja California they call them "pavos de mata" or "brush turkeys." They are handsome, but not as showy as a real turkey.
