Grandshon's & Cottontails

Two of my young grandsons ask their dad to take them Cottontail hunting today & they did a band up job of thinning the herd! Cooper, age 8 & his older brother Caleb, age 10 (well known skunk slayer) grabed their 22's & in spite of near zero weather headed out in search of some bunnies.
Just before dark I get a phone call to meet them in the driveway with the camera, the boys had taken 8 Cottontails, 6 of them with head shots! These are 2 really good boys, they've done a lot of shooting for their age & today it paid off.

This doesn't surprise me.

Having met some of Dicks family, AND watching the folks around Soda,,, I can attest to the fact that these kids are being raised properly. One of my favorite sights was when I was driving on one of the back streets, and met a groups of young teens.
Now, the street is in town, and paved. Here were about 6 "kids" aged around the 12-14 mark, all on either dirt bikes or 4-wheelers. They were obviously coming from somewhere that they had been "playing" and I spotted a few firearms with them. They weren't racing, or acting stupid on their machines. Just kids out being kids,,, as they should be. It made me smile to know that these kids were being raised to explore the outdoors, be responsible, and especially with the firearms. The very same thing I did when growing up. Something that is being lost way too much in our "modern" world.

Dicks grandkids are all being raised like this from what I could see. And I'm sure their parents are proud of them, as they know they will have good morals & values by being raised like this. Those two boys are reflections of their parents & grandpa.
