There are several at one of the places I shop and I thought the 3 inch was rare. I'm I thinking correct?

3" Full lug stainless is pretty common and still in production.
3" Short lug is less common.
3" Short lug blued is rare.
3" Full lug blued is less common.

4" half lug and 6" half lug are out of production.
4" fixed sight are out of production.
Hope this helps a bit,
Terry T

Since I just got mine, I've been doing some research.

I would say the rarest GP100 barrel length is a 5" inch.

And then, I would say the next rarest is a 3".

The most common are 6" and 4".

Also, the FULL lug is the most common.

I never even saw any half/short lugs in my search.

This is just to add to what Terry just said. What he said seemed to be very true during my search.

OK, Thanks.

Found 3x 6", 2x 4", and they have a 3". all full lug.

Got a beautiful Blued 6-inch half-lug I am trying to sell or trade. If interested can send you pictures.

3 inch, full lug, blued in 38 only are hopeless. I have been looking for one ever since someone posted here that some were made. Being as I want a NIB, I assume I won't find one but I keep looking. You never know when Ruger finds a bunch of parts laying around and screws something unexpected together.

What about the DAO versions? I have a re-imported stainless 3" short lug DAO and a stainless 4" full lug DAO that should be uncommon. Both have factory bobbed or spurless hammers that can't be cocked.
I also have a stainless fixed sight full lug 4" 38 Special. Those aren't found very often either.
There seems to be a lot of variety among the GP100s!
