I was looking at the post regarding the new SP101 4". As an owner of many GP100's, but never a SP101, what is the basic difference between the two?

Thanks

basically the SP101 is smaller than the GP100

Thanks. That was what I was thinking as otherwise it would seem to be almost a duplicate of the GP100.

The SP101 is smaller, lighter, easier to conceal. You'll loose 1 round (.357 ver), and experience more recoil.

Big brother, little brother.... same basic design, and both are built like tanks.

What`s the weight difference ???

The difference may appeal to the fairer shooters also ???

About 10oz difference on the 4" vs 4" .357 40oz vs 30oz.

Most SP101s I have handled have had heavier double action triggers than GP100s, but this is a generalization.

I have owned both but no longer have an SP101. It was great (and well-built), but I couldn't shoot it as well as the GP100. I find I shoot a full-size revolver best. If an SP101 came along at the right price, I wouldn't hesitate to own another. I like those new 4" ones with adjustable sights. Maybe there are oversize grips for them to make them handle more like a full-size revolver.
