GP100 stainless 4" full lug .357, $550 OTD. Should I?

I saw a new one in a gun shop today. Not sure if it was a full lug or not,, as I wasn't looking too hard at them. The $899.00 price tag kept my interest cooled off.

Normally I would say, "Jump on it", but is it new or used? Does it have the box and paperwork? Is it 357 Mag or 38 Spl (or some other caliber)? Is it SA/DA or DAO only? Fixed sights or adjustable sights?
Ruger made a lot of variations over the years and details matter, but if was in great mechanical shape, I would probably pull trigger on it. I can always use another stainless 4 inch, 6 shot, 38/357 for a reasonable price.

I can't pay for it or fill out the 4473 until Saturday because of some ATF rule the ffl can't esplain but is terrified to violate, and then Kolorado has the 3 day wait period that makes us all so much safer, so it will be like Tuesday. But it's in the back so no one else will be able to fondle it until then.

I wonder if your gun shop is thinking of the requirement of notifying the ATF of "multiple purchases" within so many days of a previous purchase. My local FFL told me of his requirement of having to do extra paperwork if you purchase more than one gun in a week. (Or maybe it's a 5 day work week.) Either way, to prevent him from having to do extra paperwork, and possibly causing the ATF to look at him or me more closely, waiting a few days for another purchase is a small inconvenience to me,, but not a problem.
Either way,, it sounds like you have a nice gun coming at a good price.

No, it's not the multi purchase thing, I'm careful about not getting caught up in that web. It's something to do with running SNs to see if its stolen. I'm not sure he really understands it completely himself, but its his license and he just got inspected by the ATF, with the Doogie Houser aged 'agent' regaling him with stories about the dealers he shut down because they 'pissed him off'. I'm happy with the gun and am in no real hurry to get it. He's a young guy and I see no reason to push him out of his comfort zone over a couple days. I can wait.

Understood.
The good thing,, now that we'll have a new REAL president,, we may see a lot of these ATF agents get "spanked" for doing stuff they were mandated to do under the last 4 years of gun hating types.
