Norm Nip , the hole your looking at goes all the way thru .
The other end of the pawl plunger/spring asm. pushes on the trigger link (the peice with the little arrow on the front of it) this is the peice that makes the click when the trigger resets & if ya don`t have a good click the spring is weak or damaged & needs replacing !
These 2 plungers especially the pawl gets a synthetic grease there under constant load & have to move quite a bit !
