I have a Savage Mark 2 that I had to remove the rear sight because I needed to mount a scope. I also because I removed the rear I decided to remove the front as well. I then remembered I had some Fire sights for a Ruger that might fit the Savage. The rear went on easy and locked down with a set ecrew and with just the fiber optic part removed the scope will mount and now my dovetail is filled. I was installing the front and it was harder and now comes my question. While installing the front, the fiber optic broke and the center hole broke off as well but the front and rear are ok. I got it straight in the dovetail and I have some fiber optic material that fits perfectly in the sight. My question is, do y'all think the sight will be ok with just the front and rear hole holding the fiber in? It doesn't bow any and doesn't move as I melted each end good and snug. I have one more sight if y'all think I need to try and install it with 3 holes like the other was before the center broke. Thanks for any help

These sights are fragile even before they break. It will probably be okay as it is, and likely not much weaker than it was when new.
This is why I avoid these sights, when I have the choice to do so. But they are highly popular. Maybe some folks are more accepting.

This shouldn't be a problem, the center is more there for protection of the fiber optic rod incase the firearm is dropped on the front sight. you should be fine though, worst case scenario if you drop it on the front sight you'd most likely have to change out the whole front sight either way as the aluminum they use is really soft in my experience.
