I was looking over my new gp100, and i noticed marks on the sides of the hammer. It looks like the hammer is rubbing the receiver.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Ive got a new spring set coming, so when im putting it in i figured i would use emery cloth and smooth the sides of the hammer, to solve the problem.

Welcome to the forum.
Opening up the hammer slot with a stone or stoning the side of the hammer will do the same thing. Is it just hairline scratches from a burr? run your finger over the slot/channel and see if you can find it.

Common to see marks there and on the trigger. 'Rubs' can be eliminated with spacers or maybe with some polishing. :D

Touch up the hammer with scotch brite pad & shim the hammer equal on each side , leavin .003"

I routinely "fix" the sides of the hammer well on my shooters.

If rough, start with a fine file then go to emery paper.

Thanks for the replys. I can't feel any burrs so I think I'll touch up the hammer and see if it needs spacers

Lucky you didn't cut your finger. I often find a razor edge in there somewhere. I polish the hammer to a mirrir finish. Helps.
