I`ve had a SS 4" GP100 for some time and have decided to purchase some new grips to change the look. I have the Ruger stock rubber with the wood inserts and still like them but would like to have something different. Who sells a good variety for the gun.

I have Pachmayrs on mine and love them - they fit my hand perfectly. Hogues are nice too. If you want wood grips, I have no suggestions...

There are lots of choices out there jimjc.

Hogue, Pachmayr, Eagle, Badger, Uncle Mikes and a few more. Newer GP100's come with a Hogue which you can buy from Ruger if you choose.

Someone is bound to be willing to trade you for those stock grips with panels if you wait for them to come along. Many guys seem to like the grips with panels.

I have a super redhawk alaskan. Same grips. I wantedthe same thing. A really costly alternative was sanding the finish off of existing inserts, and adding my own stain and finish. I did mine in gray. I love them. Yopu can always buy new inserts ifyou want them.

Thanks guys for the info and no I really don`t want to sell the stock grips I like them, just wanted something to switch to once and a while. The idea to re finish them was a good idea I hadn`t thought of that but I`m still going to look into some of the names in these threads.

I just returned to guns from leaving them in the safe for quite a few years now I `m resurrecting a old hobby again. This GP100 I purchased in 2002 I believe and never shot it so it`s new.

As a side note I just saw a thread here that talked about a "starter gun" that Ruger made [ there's a picture here] and I`d really like to have the grips on that gun but I`m sure that were custom from Ruger and not available damn it I like those. Thanks Jim
