The cylinder on my GP100 has started to gum up and does not want to rotate. I am trying to remove it from the crane for cleaning but I am having a few problems.

I have the crane/cyl removed from the frame and I have removed the front latch pin, latch, latch spring/plunger and ejector rod. As I understand it the cylinder should now slide off the crane but mine wont. It shakes a little end to end but feels like there is something else holding it on.

Should it come off? I read that the ejector and spring can stay in the cylinder but that the cyl should come off the crane.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What you`ve removed is not what holds the cyl on !

Look down the hole there`s a screw down there , secured with loc-tite & left handed .

I`d flush with brakleen & blow out with compressed air then lube lightly.

&grow an extra arm puttin it all back together !!!

CRAP! I was afraid of that. I thought I researched this on the net well enough before I started that I had all my ducks in a row but I guess not.

I did take the cyl/crane assembly to work today and used brake cleaner and air and it seems to be good to go without further disasembly so your trick worked like a charm. Thanks GP100man.

Tonight I will get the wifey to help and get the latch and springs back in! I would have saved a bunch of trouble if I would have posted my quested here first.

Thanks again.
