GP Sight - Casting Screw Up

Looking over a GP the other day to see why the front sight was leaning to the right. The usual reason is that the barrel isn't quite square with the frame. In this case, the front sight blade itself was not square to its mounting base. Isn't casting fun? Its worth a check if you suspect a problem.

When I was a tennager, living in Fairfield, CT, of which Southport was then a part of, I remember vividly the news report of a test-firer at Ruger (based in Southport) being killed on the job. Several weeks later the legal judgement as printed blamed the worker for not following safety rules. I was raised under the credo that EVERY firearm is ALWAYS loaded. General speculation at the time was that the guy was either goofing, or ignored the rules.
So, regarding the OP, a bad sight made it past any existing inspectors (maybe a sample inspection was performed ?), and the test firer wasn't paying much attention.
