Gp 100 seven shot 357 speed loaders.

I’m looking for speed loaders for my new gp100 7 shot 357. My question is, does anyone know if the hks, speed bees, 5star, etc... that offer 7shot speed loaders for the s&w 686+ Work in the gp100. None of them list the gp100 7 shot as a firearm that fits these speed loaders, and I’m just curious if it’s because the 7shot gp100 is still pretty new. Maybe they have not updated the descriptions on their websites not sure. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You might email or call some to ask. The cylinder diameter of the GP and 686 are extremely close so unless bore to cylinder axis of the guns differ much they should. On the 6 shot 686 and GP100 Safariland shows that the same speedloader is used.

Yeah I tried to contact 5 Star, which are the ones I like the most, but their email server was down. I guess I should try to get an answer from some of the others. I was just hoping someone had already taken the leap and bought some.

The HKS speed loader for the S&W 686 seven shot works in my GP100 seven shot.

SKS 686 7 shot loader was what I used, Safariland would be the same.

HKS # 587A is the right one. Safariland has shown no interest in the 7 shots. When the 7 shot L frames first appeared, I contacted Safariland and was told the polymer they use was not durable enough to withstand daily use once you cut 7 holes in it. Bob! :wink:

What ever became of the German speedloader? I seem to recall they had a 7 shot
speedloader. There were also Jet speedloaders and S.L. Variants but don't recall if they had a 7 shot version.

It has been some time but seem to recall at one time when SL's were hard to obtain here that there was a way to order from Germany but one had to purchase a minimum of something like 10. Wonder if anyone here has experience with the centerfire Speed Beez and how they like them? Here is a picture off an Australian website:

At one time there was a site in Australia that offered them but I have not found it lately.

LE personnel have been using HKS loaders for decades with excellent results. If one does break or get lost, it's nothing to get another one. The 5 star loaders are an example of machinist art and certainly an option. Bob!! :D

I've used both HKS and Safariland speedloaders in both J-frame 5-shot and L-Frame/GP sizes and far prefer the Safariland. I've had too many unintentional releases with the HKSs as their locking detents aren't nearly firm enough. The Safariland's are far more secure for carry but still release the rounds into the cylinder very reliably.

22/45 fan, I too use Safariland loaders with all of my revolvers that they make loaders for. I particularly like the JK2 loader for K frame M10,15,19, and 66's. Safariland does not make a 7 shot loader for the S&W L frame or the 7 shot GP-100, so they are not an option. That's why I mentioned the HKS version. Bob!! :mrgreen:
