Got a grip!

I just received in the mail yesterday from the Ruger online store new Hogue cocobolo wood grips for my Mk III stainless Target! I switched out the original black plastic ones last night and, boy does that right hand thumb rest feel comfortable! I'm sure my accuracy will improve 100% :lol:
Anybody else use these grips?

I use thumbrests on a couple of my MK pistols. They do feel a bit better to me.

I had a problem with the Ruger thumbrest grips. They left a gap between the grip and the pin head allowing the hammer pivot pin to move to the left and come out of place on the right side of the frame. What a PITA to get that back in place. I ended up placing a small piece of rubber sheeting between the pin head and the grip. No problems since. Might want to check that little thing if you have thumbrest grips installed.

That does sound like a PIA! I'll look mine over. I was careful to tighten the screws as much as possible to get it tight against the frame. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the heads up.

Don't tighten the screws too much and crack a grip! Once a grip screw bottoms, I give it at most another eighth of a turn.

On my Mark III, I'm happy with the factory plastic. I've been fortunate to be able to try others, and stayed with originals. The others either didn't feel any better, or worse, and some interfere with the bolt or mag releases.
