I just returned home from the range. I started at 25 yds., making sure the guns were sighted in and then set up shooting clays up at the 100 yd. rifle range. The 10/22 has a red dot on it and was busting the clays on every shot, I was holding just a bit high. The 96/22 has a 4x scope and I was holding dead on and busted the clays then the pieces, not every shot was a hit but much more hits than misses. Tried the old model single six with the 4 5/8 (?) barrel and didn't have much success but did come close. I pulled out my Dan Wesson with an 8 inch barrel and was not much better, both the SS and the Dan are iron sights. The single six was more fun to shoot, The Dan may be for sale. BUT the most fun was shooting my Mark ll, it has a Millet red dot and I have done most of the internals with the common after market replacements, trigger pull was tested at just under 2lbs. To my great suprise, holding just a tad bit high at the 100yd clays it was a hit every time. The pieces were also done in with great regularity. I was at the range for 3 hours shot at least 5 hundred rounds, mostly bulk Federal and CCI ammo and some Wolf and Stingers and Mini mags. The bulk stuff was the best in all the guns. The bigger guys, 9mm, .357 mag., 30-06 long gun never saw day light. For about $15 in ammo, I bought 1000's of rounds of .22 before things went crazy, I had $100's of fun.
