Fuel Stop Trip Planner Help

Does anyone know of a good website or app for planning fuel stops for an automobile trip ?
Maybe create some sort of ? ledger? showing available stops along a planned 1000 mile route and various pricing to get most economical total exspense .
I have been using Gas Buddy but you have to manually put in each stop or area to see prices. I dont think they have a trip planning feature

I have been using www.findfuelstops.com for my travel planning. I tow a 38' travel trailer and use diesel fuel. There are gasoline pumps at all of these stops. I do a little work and get notes for stops along my destination route.

Yep, me too. Not to mention my GPS and phone show upcoming fuel stations. I've driven and flown a lot of miles over the years and never have run out of fuel. It's pretty easy to find down here in the South 48.

(Knock on wood)...the same here. HOWEVER back in the early 80's, pre cellphones etc, I got nervous when I got off the late night flight into Denver and headed to Wheatland, WY

Every 75 minutes it's coffee in/coffee out and every 3rd time, I fill the gas. If it's an all guy trip, the coffee out part only requires a field entrance, side road, or just a straight stretch of hwy.

There is a paperback book for sale at the truck stops. It list all/most fuel stops on major roads and freeways. It also list rest stops and many other things. No phone or GPS required.

Worked for decades doing this so not sure why it's more difficult to do now. :wink: Get off an exit, and darn good chance there's fuel nearby.

its called generica guys. the goal of commerce is to make wherever you go look and have the same thing you just left. no app needed for that. in time...every town, city, and exit will be the same.

If you have one of those self driving cars and it can also refill the fuel, you could just take a nap and still get where you're going.

I think the OP was regarding fuel pricing more than availability. I'm interested to see if anyone has a answer to that part of the question.

If you're an Auto Club member you might check and see if their online mapping and/or "triptek" might give you that info. I was going to try it and see but their site must be down right now, wouldn't let me sign on. Don't know if it will do what you want but might be worth a look.

For our vehicles even if gas is ten cents more a gallon at station " B " than station "A", that's still just $1.30 more a tank. Much less than a soft drink at most places.

One of my motorcycles has a limited range and I mostly use less traveled roads. Fuel stops require some planning and things can get interesting at times. Carrying extra fuel isn't really safe and pushing a 750 pound bike would take a lot of the fun out of the trip.

Planning for fuel is NECESSARY if you are driving a Diesel pickup pulling a trailer.
With a 24 gal tank, pickup getting 10-13 mpg, fuel stops become frequent. Now needing diesel AND room to maneuver a 5th wheel trailer demands forethought. toss in the issue that interesting campgrounds and major truck stops are usually Not close to each other, planning when and where to get fuel becomes really important.
