Sadly, I am compelled to sell one of my favorite 44 mag customs.

The cylinder is from a 357 Maximum and is fit to fill the frame window and is line bored and free spinned. The gun has a 4 5/8" barrel, pinned front sight, Bowen target rear, Belt Mountain base pin, CCH finish on frame, hammer, and trigger, and Gallagher's legendary action job. The gun also comes with a pair of elk horn stag grips from Sack Peterson that fit exceptionally well.

The pics do not show the Bowen rear sight as it was added later.

John builds these guns to accept the 330 grain Garrett Hammerhead load. He killed a 200 pound Russian Bore while we were in camp at our friend Ashley Emerson's place in west Texas with his long cylinder 4 5/8 Bisley .44. He shot it through the head, in one side and out the other. The Garrett hammerhead was designed by Randy Garrett for the Redhawk. These long cylinder Blackhawks usually run 1.8" cylinder length, which is about .050" longer than the Redhawks. Ashley has been killing hogs with them for years, and told me they are he and John Gallagher's preferred loads for big pigs, and for bear country. Ashley has been using them for years, and became a friend of Randy Garrett. When Randy decided to call it quits, he wanted Ashley to be the one to carry on the name, and he now is. I highly suggest to whoever ends up with this one to give Ashley a call at Garrett Cartridges of Texas, and try the 330 grain hammerheads. I have some quality hard cast bullets from a friend, and was surprised at how much tougher the Garrett bullets are than the ones I've been using. I've been gathering research guns for Ashley for .45 Colt and .454 Casull. I CAN NOT WAIT for the .45 Colt bullets! This is a dream come true :mrgreen:
