Saw what I guessed to be a brand new T-Bird yesterday in town. I didn't like it at all. It was a small two door version but it was all roundy and just had no style to it. Just can't compete with the 55-57 Birds.

Didn't know they were making them again. I know they did a few years ago but thought they stopped. I am too big and fat for sports cars but if I was a midget I would try to get one. For us it`s full size trucks.
This is the third go around. But sadly, the latest version is worse than the last one. If those idiots would just make the original body style and put a decent engine in it they'd sell like hotcakes. Their just too stupid to realize it.

I have said this before, but I can't believe that instead of all the new tooling to make a piece of crap look alike like this that they just don't retool to look like the original ones.. same for Tri Five Chev's etc.....

Aesthetics are at the bottom of the list now. mileage and emissions are king, followed by safety.
I remember when I could tell you what kind of car it was by the exhaust note and the sound of the starter. But those days are long gone now!
I didn't know Ford was going to try the T-bird deal again. The last time they did 2003-04 I think they didn't put enough engine in it to go along with it's looks.

Figuring how much the cost of retooling up to make a 57 Chevy or a 56 T-Bird, I guess they just don't figure they could sell enough. After all, us baby boomers that loved those cars are dying off at a fast rate now.
The 59 Caddy and the Pontiac weren't exactly dogs either. Both BIG and beautiful.

AT one time the Mustang accounted for one of every two Ford cars sold (excluding trucks). The Mustang will never be a two-seater, but the new T-bird may just be the best offering yet.
Quite a few cars had,in my opinion, their best looks for one model year.
That being the 1965 Pontiac GTO....1969 Camaro.....1969 Mustang Mach 1....1969 Plymouth Road Runner and GTX... 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda....1967 Olds 442.

Back when I was in high school a buddy of mine had a 56 Buick 2 door hard top. It was powder blue and he had chrome reverse rims with the chrome little baby moons on it. Man that was a pretty car. I still remember that it had the year 1956 on the emblem on the trunk lid. It also had the horizontal bar speedometer that changed color at a certain speed. That was really cool back in those days.

Hi,
Followed a lady down the street this morning who was giving her beautiful, white '57 T-bird a bit of "Sunday morning before the crowd wakes up" sunshine. While it would be interesting to put that body on a current chassis with all the mechanical improvements that have been made in 60 years, there's something to be said about the simplicity, at the risk of saying crudity, of many of the cars of that era. It's almost a tribute to our own naivete in those days...
One thing's for sure, though: in another half century, it's doubtful anybody's gonna be driving their 2018 T-bird around and having folks go "Ooh, ahh!" like they do with many of today's 50-60 year old cars. Or even just taking one out to see who will talk to them, as a friend does now and then with her '68 Charger.
It's beautiful: a year older than she is, she got it in "like new" condition in high school. There's some kind of story attached there, one of those we've heard along the lines of "My son bought this car new before he went to Viet Nam, and he didn't make it back, so it's been in storage ever since." And she's still a looker, so the combo attracts attention wherever she takes it! She says it's especially fun to tell folks "Yes, it's mine, NOT my husband's!"

I recall starting to buy a beautiful 1956 T bird for $1,200 in 1963. Turquoise with both the rag and removable hardtop. At the time I pretty much lived on the road due to my job all over the states. My dad downed my idea with "Where are you going to put all your stuff?" The car looked almost new. I let dad talk me out of it and bought that 61 Olds that I showed earlier. Paid believe, $1,700 for that one and ended up practically giving it away a few years later.

If I hit the Lottery tomorrow. One of my first purchases would be a ((( 1957 T-BIRD ))). I have always regretted not buying one, when I was young. And for the life of me, I can't understand why Ford will not make them again.
