Flattop Blackhawk value?

Local shop has a flattop 4 5/8" .357. I'd guess around 90-95% original black grips Micro rear sight. It appears that the GF an ERH are steel. I don't know that much about old Rugers so forgive me if I am wrong. The bad news is it has been converted. Any insight as to its value. SN places it at 1958 I believe.

In Central IL converted old models are going for 300-350 unconverted 450 in the same condition. I hope this helps.

With the short barrel I would go up maybe another $50 to $100. If you can get in touch with the seller he just might have the original parts. Otherwise you can get the correct parts through the Classified Section here. The steel XR-3 grip frame is a bit of a puzzle.

OK I went and layed it away. Don't know if I paid too much or not. $349 plus tax and PICS. If nothing else my buddies Dad is looking for one. He didn't go to look at it and I figured it was too nice to let get away. Damn gunshops are going to keep me broke!

Being a Flat Top even converted that is a fine deal. The perfect base gun for a custom!

I finally bailed it out of "gun jail" It is in 95% or better. The grip frame is aluminum and shows no wear. The only blue wear is a cyl. ring and some sharp edges that are showing bright. Mainly the muzzle,
I contacted the original owner to no avail. His now deceased father sent it to be converted and there is no telling what happened to the original lock-work.
All in all it is a really nice gun.
Now I've got another question. If I should find the parts to un-convert it, being they will have to be from another revolver, will the other parts just drop in to my frame?

sounds like a nice gun and at a very good price..as for the parts, NO , each gun is individually hand fit ( final fitting, timing etc) and some of the parts may not go in and work "properly" ( timing, etc)never know till one tries, but it MUST be addressed properly and safely to be sure..............yes, you can work with and around the parts, but gotta make sure they are in GOOD shape ( seen parts sets out there with broken sear, sear notches etc, JUNK< so be careful....)

I agree with Dan's post. Get some parts and give 'em a try....

Good gun/great deal. Too bad about the cylinder ring. The ring is the result of mis-handling.
