I got to go to my first formal firearms class today I took a basic pistol class from 4G Tactical. We got there at about 9 am and left at 4:30 in the afternoon. Once we got through the initial talk where he talked about safety, grip, stance (I was surprised he taught the weaver stance), action types etc. It was a pretty grueling day. He started off with simple shooting & moved us through drills building on the skill we had acquired in the drill before. We also shot a security guard qualification course & he gave a talk on firearms laws as well as giving us a little bit of a teaser on force on force. This was not so much a marksmanship class as a combat shooting class. My sister went with me & she & I both enjoyed it. It did push her & I both to some degree but I liked it. I believe I know better how & what to practice for defensive shooting now.
He offers a Tactical Pistol 1 & Tactical Pistol 2 class as well as some classes on AR's. I intend to take some time & work on what I learned today & go back & take the next level within the next few months.
