Meat in the freezer Gotta love that! ps
I'm surprised a .41 mag stopped in the brain! Well done!Correct. Projectile entered left ear canal and traveled into the brain where it stopped.
Hiwhat bullet did you use that did not exit? You treated you pistol like a loud bow , good conservative use of it ! More people should practice marksmanship and patience for better hunts!
Over cooking game ruins more meat than one can imagine.I will one day bowhunt. It is on my TODO list for this year. But only if I feel 100% with my bow (that I haven't bought yet).
Yes the meals are tasty indeed. Better each time as I am more accustomed to cooking deer.

Problem w/ ear shot is if youd missed and hit jaw the deer would have died a terrible death.
That bullet really performed well! What brand and weight of bullet did you use?Hi
Here is the bullet. Got my mount, cape and bullet back this weekend. If you look close you will see the deer DNA (hair, brain matter, etc). The point of entry was the left ear canal and the trajectory was essentially a straight line forward into the skull. I don't have the snaps taken at the kill site to reference but I believe the bullet churned through to the rear of the rostrum from left to right, possibly 7-9 inches of bones and brain.

Thanks I had thought it must be a light weight hi vel round. A Hornady 210XTP would have made two holes , but as the saying goes "speed kills" ! Great job.I will double check but I think Barnes 180 grain bullet.
I'd always seen that associated with automobiles and amphetamines, but I guess it's true here, too.as the saying goes "speed kills" !
I bet many folk have disiked vennison due to how it was prepared and or how it was cooked. Heck I never knew a pork chop could be juicy until as an adult I ordered one - mom always baked them dry!
