That was a fun watch! Of course, The Rockford Files is my favorite TV show of all time. I watched it in the 70's in B&W and didn't know the color of the car. I guessed it as light blue and was surprised to see it was actually gold.

I never would have guessed it wasn't an original Firebird color.

Many years ago, I think after my sophomore year of college which would make it 1972, I had a summer job at an Oldsmobile dealership. I did cleanup & odd jobs at the body shop. One day I had to deliver a Formula 400 back to the customer. Yeah, that thing would move. Like Yaworski said, torque, lots of torque & then some. It handled like it was glued to the road as well.

The GET network was recently added to my service here. They've been running a lot of Rockford and the good original Magnum PI.

I can't watch many of the old shows but I still like Rockford. The stories have held up well.

I had been on the police department for 2 years and had some money in the bank so I ordered a 1980 gold Formula Firebird (yes I watched the Rockford Files and loved his car). I deleted the graphics and tried to keep cost down by deleting radio and air conditioning (big mistake). It had crank windows. I picked up my now wife for our second date the first night I had it. Rear end got smashed in by a hit and run truck in a restaurant parking lot while we were having our second anniversary dinner. Trunk always leaked after that. But wish I still had it.

Both good choices, but the original Miami Vice is my favorite. When the girl dunks her head backwards while riding the wind surfer, epic.
