Like the title says, my SR9 just came in. First 9mm and I'm enjoying getting to know it. I wish amo was more plentiful and cheaper so I could show her more love. I guess I'll just need to appreciate it in small doses for now.

There's a decision you'll never regret. Bought my first pistol in 1982 and bought, sold and traded many more. The best all-around pistol I've ever owned is the SR9. Lost track of how many rounds I've put through it since buying it new 2 years ago, but I can clearly remember and happily report that it hasn't failed me. Reloads, cheap steel case Russian ammo, factory ammo, hollow points and +P have cycled and on target with no failure. I recently purchased an SR45 and it, too, has been flawless, but the SR9 has proven more accurate for me. Great gun...

Congrats on your decision to purchase this great pistol. After alot of research on the internet I too ordered a full size black/stainless model 2 weeks ago, and am still waiting for it. My LGS couldn't estimate a wait time for me. Just curious if you had to wait for yours, and if so, how long? BTW, welcome to the forum from another newbie from Michigan!

I orginally put a down payment on a LC9. Because I had just purchased a firearm I had to wait 30 days to before I could purchase another (got to love California!). Since I never fired a 9mm I went to my local range to try one out (I was a little concerned about the small size of the LC9). Unfortunately the range didn't have one so I test drove a SR9 instead. I liked it so much I didn't think there was any way I'd be as happy with the LC9. Went back to the store and changed my order to the SR9.

I ordered from Turners Outdoorsman. They have 15 stores throughout SoCal and have a good relationship with Ruger. They receive Ruger hardware every week but most firearms never see a shelf because they are already spoken for. When I placed my order I was told it would take take 3-8 weeks. It ended up taking 4 weeks. I've only put 100 rounds through it thus far but I'm very happy with the purchase. Fortunately my local range had plenty of reloads no amo shortages, just a busy schedule. Looking forward to getting back to the range.

Congratulations, you made an excellent choice! Have well over 5k rounds down range with mine and never a problem, eats everything I put in it.
Good luck with yours

Chris
