All the old ones are great. Barnet Miller, love the music and fish. Kojak, Some of those are more cop shows than actually detectivr. Lately at our great nephew's suggestion we have been watching Castle. Also does Person of Interest count or any of the Sherlock Holmes shows.

Oh my, how soon we forget - - - - -

Too many to count.

Current favorites are Dark Winds and Will Trent. High Potential is stupidly amusing. I do enjoy Tracker, and I really like Reacher- not really cop shows, but…

Always liked CSI.

Past shows and reruns-

The original Hawaii 5-0 and Magnum P.I., Miami Vice ( oh yeah!), Bones, Jesse Stone, Longmire, Human Target, and if we’re expanding the genre a bit, Gunsmoke, Tales of Wells Fargo, the original Wild, Wild West ( one of my all time favorites) etc. too many to remember.

Dark Winds

My Wife and I enjoy Dark Winds...wish you didn't have to wait so long between seasons.

Another one we are waiting on to air in a couple weeks is a Yellowstone spinoff called Marshals. Apparently Kayce Dutton is putting his exaggerated NSW skills to use in the FED FOV. Should have the nice scenic views and explosive action like Yellowstone.

It's interesting so many people bring up Longmire. I watched it, heck we binge watched it because it was so good. I've read the books. Then I find out the guy who played the sheriff is one of the most rabid anti gunners out there. Kind of takes the edge off

He's an Aussie so it's natural to him.....his Son, plays Gibbs on NCIS: Origins.

Wonder if the new Gibbs is as anti gun as the Harmon.
Hollywood makes millions (billions?) annually with guns then turns around and wants then banned.

Imagine if they were forced to make movies without firearms. John Wick with harsh language probably wouldn't have had any sequels.

The upcoming Marshals show should be good. I also enjoyed the one with the Park Ranger- Untamed. It has a new season on the books.

Yeah true. With the state of Hollywood the way it is, it's like music: I just try to enjoy it and not overthink it.

The problem with long waits for the Yellowstone franchise and others like Lioness and Landman, coupled with short "seasons". is simple. Taylor Sheridan is up to his neck in good ideas. He's a great writer, and as it turns out not too bad an actor (he seems to do elongated HItchcock's in his shows).

Hill Street Blues …. Maybe technically a cop show, not detective but I can’t decide
You probably know this if you were a fan. But the show won 24 Emmy Awards and right after winning one year, I can't remember which, they left one of them on a desk in the squad room during filming. You can see it briefly in the episode

Cheers,
Tom
