I handload almost all my ammo, but was curious about other members favorite .357 factory loads.

As far as factory loads go, I've been using Federal Fusion (158 Grain) out of my 4-inch GP 100 with pretty good results. I also plan on using it for hunting...but may load up some Barnes or XTP's which I have had great results with.

Now about accuracy in general: What is the factory ammo you find to be most accurate in your .357 out of a 4 inch barrel?

Regards,

Jeff

I like Federal American Eagle 158gr JSP ammo. It is not premium but it is powerful and accurate, relatively inexpensive and good brass for reloading. 8) 8)

The very best shooting factory ammo in my GP (even better than my handloads) has been .38 Spl +P Remington/UMC 125 SJHP. I have no idea why, but this stuff is ridiculously accurate, producing sub 1" groups at 25 yards from a cylinder full, and even better when all fired from the same chamber.

Remington-UMC 125 jacketed soft points are quite a lively round. They ran a bit over 1,600 fps average in my GP100 with a 6" barrel. They are a bit dirty and loud and have a fair amount of muzzle flash in low light.

However, the price is quite good at Wal-Mart and after 24-30 rounds you will know that you've been shooting a true magnum load.

Gee, the last factory ammo I remember shooting in .357 was some old Super Vel I found back under the reloading bench when I tore it down to move! Years ago...
(Probably "collector's items", should have kept them! )
