I recently had surgery in my groin area (why you haven't seen me here for a while) and my mobility is very much restricted, to say the least. My grandson called and asked if there was anything he could do to help me out. I explained that the grass was in need of a herd of goats. He told me that he would come up and make sure it got cut. He AND his dad showed up this morning to tackle to jungle. He said that if ANYTHING needed to be done to call him. He said that "It is always family first." He had to travel over 40 miles just to get there. I am truly blessed.

Yup, yes you are. But am guessing you raised his father right and the help you are getting, you earned. Just have a BIG glass of cold lemonade waiting for the mowing crew.

Funny thing Frank, I have a son-in-law that does the same thing for me. Don't really know why. Wife says he's coming out Sunday again to do whatever projects I need done, and I should make a list. Not at all used to this. I usually do everything myself and never ask for help.

Just can't figure this guy out, but I sure respect him. :D

Sounds like you also have a great Grandson.
Yesterday mine arrived after ferrying a Stearman from Tampa FL to here. with a friend. We spent the last few hours working on airplanes. NOW he is out power washing the BIG patio for his Nana. He graduated from HS 5-22 and has yet to have any down time for himself because of helping others..

I HATE to ask for help. I am a bit of a hard head but have learned late in life that sometimes I now cannot do the 'stuff' I did when I was younger. This operation put a slowdown damper on EVERYTHING. When they volunteered to come and cut the lawn and weed-whack I was overjoyed (as was the wife).

Was that Jim and son? Heal well!
No; this was my son-in-law (married my eldest daughter Theresa) and his eldest son.
BTW Dan; just to make your day...on the 28th of this month Jim will turn 70

Had a "duh" moment 'cause Jim is your brother not your son. Hard to believe he's almost 70.

My son had to put down a dog today. As we buried her on family property, he & I discussed how it is very important to put family first.
Glad to see you have "kids" who believe that as well.
Now; GET WELL SOON!
