I have seen a few pics of a wood grip that used to be available from Ruger years ago, undoubtedly a Lett product if I am not mistaken.

It essentially resembled the older rubber grips (with inserts) in shape, but was made entirely from walnut (cocobolo? rosewood?). I like the angle and style of the rubber grip but would like something made from wood. Does anyone know of a place to purchase one of those grips, or does anyone here have a set they are willing to sell?

Thanks in advance guys.....

I just bought a new 6-inch blued GP100 and replaced the factory rubber grip with the one that used to come on the guns. I got the rubber piece from Midway and the inserts from 41Magnum on this forum. Setup cost me about $75 if I remember correctly. Very, very, very nice though.

I HAVE the original style rubber grips with inserts. What I am referring to is the WOOD grip made in that same shape and profile, as offered by Ruger in the early years of the GP100.

It replicates the rubber grip but is made completely from wood.

That grip.

Would you have a picture to post? I've never heard of or seen these.

As I recall the grip was Rosewood and was an aftermarket accessory that Ruger sold on their website. These days I guess you will have to check Ebay and the various gun sites that have a sales section. I seem to recall on some limited editions these or another like it grip were on some of them. These may have been made by Altamont that makes grips for S&W and other guns but am not sure. At any rate they are not offered now by Altamont. Originally, I think Ruger sold them for around $42 or so.

That is the one! Would really like a set, and do not do Ebay any more. Just could not see eye to eye with some of their business practices.

Those grips are very rare and if you do find a set, $100 would probably be a good deal.

I also don't do EBay since they decided to ban me from PayPal for using their idiotic service to receive payment for a rifle......
