I never believed the primer manufactures story about running production "wide open"

I figured with modern technology and know how the machines would be running so fast that the human eye could not keep up with the process

If this video is an accurate account of today's production process ..they better go to Vegas and hire some casino dealers with fast hands or we will never see primers !!! PLEASE tell me they have new equipment on order

Dealing with primary explosives is tough. Probably a lot a red tape to changing up the process. That said, I believe some parts of the current manufacturing process are significantly more automated than that video would have you believe.

I believe they are using machine to making primers and powders, but I don't know why both supplies are shortage.

As NikA said, they aren’t going to show their whole operation.

As much factory ammo as I see on the shelves, I believe most of the primers are being used for this ammunition.

Brownell's typically has Small & Large pistol & rifle primers in stock day to day as well as some other on line sites. They're expensive as Hell but they are out there to be had if you search for them. If you're waiting for them to show up on your local shelves, that'll probably not happen for the foreseeable.
