We have a niece, her hubby, and the 2 great nieces, ages 6 and 8yrs old here from Fla.. I awoke to UNCLE STEVE ! repeated many times, followed by lets ride the ATV's, let's have a snowball fight ! let's..etc... My .44spec Bulldog will be no protection from the dangers I face this weekend. I would like some quiet bathroom time before I face my fate. I may need a 2nd huge multi-vitamin later. I love my nieces, the above tongue-in-cheek of course. My 4 yr old Lab is ignoring all the laws of gravity this am., she is so excited too. I made need back-up. Me'n hubby will get some range time in the backyard, and visit a nearby butcher that specializes in jerky/meat sticks for grown-up mantime fun. They brought me up another nephews Beretta Nano to play with. I'm sending my Kahr P-9 back down to Fla for him to try. A temporary trade.

Consider your self lucky it could be worse they could be nephews. Nieces imo are a bit easier
especially when it comes to ATV's and such. Good luck ! ps

Ok, have survived day one. Just assaulted the coffee pot with greater than usual affection. Should have put another scoop of high test in. The dog has refused to get up and go out yet. She is a smart dog. All the above mentioned fun was had and more. Yes, memories are being made ! Surviving them all is my worry. Again, this is all tongue-in-cheek talk. Our concern is FIL in hospital in Brandon(south of Tampa).

Just tell me honestly, would you have it any other way?

PS; My 12 year old granddaughter is staying with us for several days & we are having FUN!

Honestly, am having a blast ! I never fully grew up myself anyway. We were just in the basement with nerf pistols. Took a pic of them and sent to their Mom,grandma, and great grandma, captioned saying uncle steve is teaching them knife fighting next ! Lots of scared adults have been calling here lately.

Thought I'd pass along this training tip, for self-defense. Apparently a good firm hug can stop you from being mugged by two little nieces. My wife taught me this clever move. I'd not recommend it for use on the mean streets, unless you can do it one-handed and pull a blade with theother, firm upward jabbing motions directed at lower soft tissue targets. With nieces, the one-handed upward directed motion goes into tickling, works great ! thought I'd share my further adventures. If the nephews were here, we'd have moved on to near lethal wedgies. An under-rated selfdefense move surely.

I survived ! They just left to cross N. Ohio to visit his family in Toledo area. I get a T-shirt, right ?
