Before church services started a young man at church showed me a project he is working on. It was a wax cartridge, a scaled up 9mm round to about 30mm diameter but perfectly proportioned. There was a rather large elongated hole in the mid point of the "case."
His object is to cover the "cartridge" with a plaster mix, then melt out the wax. This will leave a plaster mold which he will then pour in molten brass. This brass is avout ten pounds of empty cartridges given to him by friends. When the brass solidifies he will break away the mold and have a big brass cartridge with a hole in it. Then he will fit a wooden hammer handle in place and have a brass hammer in the shape of a 9mm pistol cartridge. The head of the cartridge will be the striking face.
His forge? He designed and built it himself.
This is one talented young man.
