I really wish the media, wouldn't say anything until they have some facts. Too bad ethics is a thing of the past.

We euthanize animals if they are beyond medical help, yet we keep humans alive and let them suffer. It is not a kindness.

At one point I told the nurses there that if my MIL was an animal and someone was letting her die like this I would arrest them for cruelty.
Sorry you had to go through that, I do agree with your sentiment.... At one point I told the nurses there that if my MIL was an animal and someone was letting her die like this I would arrest them for cruelty.
Rick, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. You've written about it before so it must be a long lived painful memory. My X was a BSRN and she would tell me that Drs. would sometimes give people morphine to "snow them under" in order to hasten their inevitable death. I don't know, but it may not have been a coincidence that she passed away 24 hours later. Nobody should have to suffer like thatRick Courtright said:Doctor didn't want to do it, for fear the patient would become addicted! He finally gave in, and my friend had morphine the last 24 hours of her life. Unbelievable.
