Engraved No.1

I have a 4 digit Ruger No.1 rifle with an eagle head engraved on the reciever. Was this a special issue gun from Ruger?

YES there extremely rare, last one sold for 1 meillion dorrars.

No.1, 4 dgt that's really all we get?

Caliber, configuration, part of the sn#, you say 4 digit is that after a pre-fix 134-01234 or 1234, there are both.
Better yet a few pictures….eah?

It's all in the details, My guess, Not Ruger, but it does sound interesting.

Yes, I'm afraid more details are needed before anyone can make an educated assessment of your rifle.
There were several etched and true engraved No. Ones over the years.
If this rifle is really an early non-prefix serial number 4-digit gun, then the engraving is most likely not from the factory. But then, as we Ruger loonies like to say, "never say never:.
