Elk antler grips - first try

Here are a couple pair made from elk antler. Is there some finish I should apply?

Those look perty dern nice, as you can tell got to watch the cornors they go away fast.

As for polish, I go to 1500 grit wet/dry, and then want more polish go to 2000 grit wet/dry. make's em shine.

With the material you are using I would go wet. When I work w/ wood I keep it dry.
 
Nice grips and guns! If I may ask, where did you get the antler from? I want to try and make a set but haven't located a supplier yet.

Thanks for all the compliments and tips. My wife bought some furniture on Craigslist, and the lady asked if she wanted some "deerheads" for $5. It turned out to be 2 elk racks, 1 4point and 1 5point. You can find some at
