I loved the LCR .38 that I had for awhile but I didn't have a real use for it. I sure was a quality gun. It seems my desire for quality .22's (especially at today's ammo prices for centerfire stuff) never ends.

An 8 shot, lightweight, accurate, quality, smooth and light trigger pull LCR? Neato bandito!

Ruger continues to amaze me with their new products!

Ruger doesn't show it on their sight yet. I would love to see modular barrels and cylinders made for the LCR. One firing mechanism and interchangable calibers.

Yea, a DA only snub with a 2" barrel is absurd. Don't they know we want DA only snub guns with 4" barrels!!!!

And then when they make one, we will want adjustable sights, and single action capability.

The only use I can see for it in its current configuration is as an inexpensive practice alternative to its big bothers. If it did come in a 3-4" barrel it would make an excellent trail gun.

Sure. People on this board have been hollering for a 22 version of the LCR since it came out. It is out, and now it is not right.

It just moved to the top of my "NEXT GUN" list.

I understand, everyone has personal tastes............. And they don't like the new 4" .22 SP101, the new 4" 357 SP101, they don't like the single Ten, they don't like the birdshead Single Six, they don't like the limited edition New Vaquero convertibles, and for that matter they don't like the New Vaqueros at all. All "personal preferences" that they are free to have and express.

It is MY "personal preference" to comment on the whiners that complain about EVERYTHING.............. Don't take it personal Frank.

I like the gun.... I wont be buying one, i am on the hunt for LCR in .38 tho.


This would be a great training gun, a great carry gun for recoil sensitive shooters (women), and for teaching younger shooters. Down the road, maybe i could see purchasing one for a youngen to shoot tho.


I personally like that Ruger is going pretty hard at the .22 market. They have put out 3 new .22 guns just here lately... They are showing their understanding of the economy and doing everything they can to get ppl shooting and buying their guns.

Give it a 3.5" barrel, big dot or fiber optic front sight, make it a 22 Mag and you have a nice little weather resistant kit gun.

I like it. I'd like to get one in .38 and .22lr. Now if they'd only make one in 9mm we'd have a trifecta. I'd buy all three.

Could see a lot of uninformed people carrying it for self defense. The single ten and sp101 I can see being useful, not so much with this, I'll put it in the same catagory as that 30 rd .22mag of keltecs. It'll probably sell like hotcakes.

Actually, from what I've read 22 LRs do surprisingly well in defense. Seems most people don't like to get shot, regardless of the caliber. And they are extremely deadly (albiet not necessarily quick about it). Myself, I still prefer at least a 38+P.

I don't see a lot of need for the LCR in 22 LR aside from training purposes. If you have plenty of money, I'm sure it'd be another fun toy though.

It wasn't there earlier. I wanted to read what they had to say about it. My wife took my 38 LCR from me and gave me my SP101 back. I am glad to see this offered although as said I wish theywould sell barrel and cyinder seperate to be able to swap out if you already have the firing mechanism. I carry a 317 S&W most of the time bow hunting but probably will get one of these as well. My wife would probably practice more with the 22 version.

Who's complaining? Not me. I was just suggesting. Obviously the LCR 22LR is a great pocket self defense gun for those that are very recoil sensitive. Why not a little longer barrel for those of us that like a little longer barrel? How hard can that be?

Just like the original LCR, a magnum version can't be far behind. It would be a perfect sd revolver for my wife. If they made it a convertible, WOW! I have the KLCR 357 and it's great, but even 38 spec is more than my wife likes.

As long as I've been around here, and having witnessed many new Ruger offerings, I can say that Ruger will NEVER be able to please everyone.
Everybody has their "preferrences" in what they would enjoy. Well, I would HOPE that these folks who immediately find fault with whatever new offering comes out would think of something said by a wise person long ago;
"If you have nothing good to say, it's best to say nothing."

+1. I'm with Contender on that saying. I say good for Ruger for rolling out so many interesting variations of handguns and rifles. I enjoy my Rugers for sure and IMHO they are the best value for the $.
