Ebay Grips

I was kind of wondering what you thought of the right side grip hanging a half inch below the bottom of the grip frame.

I like stag grips but can't understand what the deal is with leaving the one half long untrimmed and not fit like that just because it has a crown on it, looks stupid.

At the asking price I wouldn't be the least bit interested even if they did fit, I don't own any stag grips only because the asking price is always out ragas.

looks okay (and just okay) on some knives. On a revolver, no.

I disagree......

To me …it looks like the makings of a nice set of grips. If that right side was trimmed off and both were sanded / fitted properly, they would look pretty nice.

As-is though ….ugh!!!

We all have different thresholds of pain. I can tell you that if I were shooting a stout loaded Super Blackhawk with those grips I would have to use gloves. That bark can rub your hand raw, I know this from experience. I can only imagine what the crown would do.

I work with Sambar stag making knife handles. I cannot see that set of grips being worth anywhere near the asked for price.

I think a pretty set of grips could have been made from that material . . . but as done, no!

And $500????? Not only "no" but "heck no" . . . or words to that effect.

;)

I think you are wrong..... the point I responded to, concerned the 'looks' of horn/stag on a revolver. Not those fugly, over-priced abortions posted by the OP.

'nigma said he don't think stag looks very good, but is 'just OK' on certain knives. He also stated that he doesn't care for it as revolver grips/stocks. I politely disagreed. And I believe I showed an example of a revolver that actually looks better than 'just OK'. If you think that ol' Colt of mine is ugly, then as the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz would say while wanting to impress the others with his pugilistic abilities, "Put 'em up, put 'em up"........grin

Those grips would over power the gun they would be placed on. Grips, no matter what material, should complement the gun, never look out of place nor contrived.

And no set of grips should detract from the purpose of the gun, that is, to shoot.

That's my take on the subject.
