Dr. appointments and gun stores

So this week I had Dr. visits. Monday local, Tuesday travel to Cody 60 miles one way, Wednesday Billings MT at 0900 125 miles one way.
After the appointment in Cody we went and picked up our youngest granddaughter from school to wait until daughter got off work at the hospital. Wife asked me what we could do for an hour. Since I needed more primers for my .454 Super Blackhawk, I said head for the gun store. Grabbed a brick of Remington 7 1/2 BR primers and was looking at the powder shelves, hmmm HP-38 for $25.00 a pound better grab two. The good wife grabs hold of the items in my hand so I could get on the floor to check out lead bullet selection, nothing i needed. After struggling to get in a standing position again we were waiting in line for a guy purchasing a gun in front of us. So I'm standing by the display wall of handguns. What's that Ruger, damn a .327 Single Seven. Tapped my wife on the shoulder and say "check this out" she did and her reply was "we don't have one of those do we?" my reply was "nope". Her response was take it off the gun rack and proceed to counter. Then I get this look of you are paying right? So I had to show her my hidden gun stash in my billfold. Got home after dark so no range time.

Wednesday we left the house a a little after six to visit the cardiologist for a stress check before my back surgery next week. Passed ok.
Off to Cabela's she takes me. She found a Henry Big Boy brass in 30-30, I convinced here our gold plated Winchester Centennial was a better gun. So off to a farm and ranch store which also sells guns. I went to the restroom in the back and as I come out the wife is motioning for me to come to the gun counter. She points to an engraved Ruger New Vaquero in .45 Colt. Luckily I was able to tell her we couldn't buy handguns in Montana as we are Wyoming residents. (Saved some money on that one).

It's hell when your wife likes guns. Had to order 500 Starline .327 cases and 500 Cast Performance bullets today. If I get a chance I can shoot some of my .32 H&R Magnum, or finally sight in my .454 with the new handloads for it. Probably just end up reading gun forums while recuperating from surgery, but at least I have things to look forward to.

Yep she is a keeper, been married for 48 years and dated for two years before that, both 18 when we married.

When we got home with the 327 I opened the safe to find a spot for it. She's picking out various guns, looks at me and says "no changing the handle", of course my response was "they don't have have handles" she corrected the moment by saying "you can't change the grips cause I like these". Every other stainless Ruger single action wears black micarta. Give it a month or two and she won't remember.

On the way back from Billings we saw quite a few prairie dogs next to the highway. My comment was "that new gun of yours was made for them little varmints". Since this is a family oriented forum I can't repeat her reply.

Sir I tell every one to get back surgery. Yes it can cause problems, BUT most if not all with using common sense being careful what you do, down the long road, it will be better. I now use the local high school boys to lift, carry, PULL, and PACK HEAVY STUFF... They need the 10.00 a hour and me and "SISTER" get to boss. No jobs here either, but we are learning them something in stead of "TEXTING".

Your wife almost sounds like Miss Penny! KUDOS!
I love it when Miss Penny tells me about local auctions with guns or gun stuff. We plan to go & she's right there. She already knows I keep a little gun money tucked back.
Sounds like you had a couple of productive days there. And you'll have things to do as you recover from surgery. Good luck in the surgery.

She is an animal lover, so she sided with the prairie dogs. We've got seven acres here and the only varmints she thinks I should shoot are the skunks. She hates snakes but wants me to just relocate them.
