With a cloudy, breezy start to the day, and the wife gone to visit family, I thought it was about time I got out to the range. Took my Rossi 92 with new Marble's Ghost Ring Bullseye rear sight and some 158 grain handloads, also a Marlin Papoose with a NcSTAR holosight.

The new sight on the Rossi works great. With a little adjustment, it was shooting right on. With my eyes, it will never be a target gun, but I can hit the vitals of a deer or predator. The Papoose was a different story. After the first shot, the red dot disappeared, and in trying to get it to come back, the on/off switch broke. I took it off and continued with the open sights, which I could see fairly well. It shot well with two of the three magazines I have, but the third may be a lost cause, with FTL and not staying locked in.

Now we come to the practice part of the story. As usual, any time I'm at the range, I empty one or two magazines through my LCP. It had obviously been too long between practice sessions, as my two-hand grip got me a lacerated thumb knuckle with the first shot. I changed my grip, finished the magazine, then started looking through my gear for some tape to put a pressure dressing on the wound. All I had was some hospital-discard fluorescent red anesthesia syringe labeling tape, with VECURONIUM printed every 3/4". I wrapped some around my thumb, then it was off to the store for a few groceries, with a thumb that yelled "Doofus!"

If it had been me I would have probably had to use black duct tape... I usually have part of a roll in my range bag... makes a good 2" square bulls eye on a used target if all else fails.

At least it wasn't a pink band aid with a cute kitty or such on it... that's what I usually got at the blood center to cover the puncture.

LCP's will do that. I haven't for a while, but have shot mine up to a full 50 shot box in one range session, with the result you describe. Hertzdonut! Most of the time with 5-10 shots I haven't had problems.
