I have asked Ale-8 to put on the notice for the auction of our friend Don W, who passed away, and his MANY guns will be auctioned off,,, some from Bob C, Terry M, myself , and even some low numbered Blackhawks from the Low Numbers collections, single digit numbers. I thank 'Ale-8' for putting this on correctly and in the right spot......enjoy ,we miss Don, and Bob C and Terry M.............

Rugerguy informs me that most of the collection of late Rugerphile Don W will be going to auction at Don Rose Auctions, Bowling Green , Ohio. Hundred of guns will be on their web site including the 3 consecutive Blackhawks #9,#10, and #11 .30 carbines. I have no other information, but I knew Don via the OGCA shows/meetings in Wilmington, Ohio over the years, and I can attest to the fact that Don had some pretty slick stuff.

This is the new link to Don's stuff . . .

An amazing collection of fine Rugers and other guns.

Just checked the "fine print" . . .

Bidding Starts: Sun Jul 19

Yep,, we have lost some good folks. Don, Bob C., Bob N., Terry, Carl, & many others. I know many will see that Don's guns go to GOOD homes!

Some of the prices are pretty low right now.

SBH in mahogany box s/n in the 13xx range for $450

SBH in mahogany box s/n in the 15xx range for $750

Heck I've seen good condition BOX alone bring $300!!

All closed and no list of what each item brought.

Hate that.

I watched a few pieces here and there and Big bucks for some, the three consecutive numbered .30 carbine were 1975.00 apiece last i looked, one of the 6-1/2” flat tops was near a grand, the three 10” flat tops all went over a grand even the reblued one hit 1000, I would have never thought a reblued revolver would fetch a grand, go figure, a couple colts were big bucks as well

Ya just never know how folks will react to an online auction. In addition, not everyone understands the collector value of certain guns, particularly "low number" individuals.

Absolutely correct!!

bottom line is in these times with NO gun shows and all that is going on, it appears to be the answer for them, ALL gone in a short period of time, better than trying to drag out sales for years ....hopefully folks who "wanted" any of it, got into it and did OK
I know of only ONE gun, and to where its going !!! 8)

Yes, some deals, and a few, way up there, but to me for the most part, the prices were market level.............to the winners, congrats........ :)

RIP Don, Carl, Terry, Bob C, Tommygun, and all the TOO many others.. :(

FYI
Realized Prices are POSTED.

Thanks for the update!

Seems overall some right fair prices paid.

Not too cheap ..... not outrageously high either.

Wonder if lots 109, 110, and 111 went to the same bidder? They were serial numbers 9, 10, and 11 . . . nice work there on the part of the auction folks.

Interesting post (with auction link).

I hope his widow, family members, or other loved ones were blessed by the results as they cherish his memory.

I concur with others, here... there were some deals, and many fair-market prices.
The realized prices are always a good indicator of the market.
