Does SR1911 success = more variants?

I like Ruger's interpretation of the 1911, but would prefer one in blue chambered 9mm or 38S. Does the fact that they are selling these things by the trainload mean there will probably be more variants once they get caught up?

I like you would love to see a 38 super come out, an all American cartridge for an all American gun.

If you want a nice shooter in 38S, CDNN has Taurus PT1911's in 38S for $399.

Agreed ... the Taurus's aren't exactly the most desirable 1911, but their PT1911's are quality guns at an absolutely incredible price. Easily as good as the Ruger and far more 'upgrades' for a bargain price.

Just lettin' ya know. If I was in the market for a 38S I'd be all over that ... even though it IS a Taurus.

If they start making variants before they fill all of their existing backorders for the basic SR1911, there will be a major riot--and I'll be leading the mob.
(SR1911 on order for 11 months--and counting)
