OK I probably asked this question before but either cant remember the answer or did not understand.
What is the difference in the OM long frame, Dragoon frame and 47? frames. If some one can post a picture with the differences it would help.
I have an early OMSBH with serial number 21xx.

The long frame is about 3/16 longer ( taller) than the standard frame......the long frame grips have a small "c" stamped on the inside.....tough to tell which you have without checking the grips.....hope this helps...see ya RR.

What is the difference in the OM long frame, Dragoon frame and 47 frames? There's only two variations. Long and Standard, but the OM Super's were ALL cataloged as model S-47, no matter which grip frame was utilized.

"Standard" Frame Super

Look close at the grips. After a while you'll see the extra length and the extra "flair" on the Long Frame.

About 1/2 way down the page on this link is some information on SBH frames.

To tell if a gun is a short frame or long frame just from a photograph, I look at the front lower toe of the grip frame. The long frame will be noticeably pointed while the short frame has more of a normal radius on it.
