George S. Patton was a young Army lieutenant during Prohibition, he and one of his closest friends each set up a still on their army base to produce their favorite alcoholic beverages. His friend's name: Lt. Dwight D. Eisenhower.

I have read Farago's and D'Este's biographies of Patton, and D'Este's biography of Eisenhower, and do not recall mention of this. Also, although they struck up an early friendship, I don't think they spent much time together until both were stationed in the D.C. area.

I don't doubt that either of them would have set up a still, I just haven't seen reference to this.
