That's a beauty! Every time I see a Bodyguard it reminds me of an old TN gas station attendant around '75. He pulled a blued Bodyguard out of his pocket and said he was ready for anybody, like so many were. TN didn't issue carry permission slips until '96 LOL

It is a 649 stainless. I also have a 49 blued. I prefer the steel models due to recoil, but i would not turn down a model 38 either! : )

Yes, they are all older models with pinned barrels etc except the 649. Can't tell from the pic's but model 36 blued , two model 37's Airweights blued, model 49, model 60 stainless and model 649. The K frames are my Model 19, model 12 Airweight and model 15 snub...I love the snub guns. I used to carry two, one in steel and an Airweight as backup. Now i tend to use the 649 most, because the stainless shows absolutely no wear etc. It is an older pic, I have put Tyler T grips on the others too.
Interesting Snake. Haven't had a revolver since the Model 19 snub bought back new in 77 or 78 for $180!! Kickin my ass I let that get away now when I see the prices on S&W Forum. Clinging to my CS-9 stainless for now but a .38 snub seems like a great ticket for carry also. This time I will keep BOTH!

Yes, we have all done the same. I am kickin myself for having let go many fine revolvers, but times change, circumstances change and we do what we think is best. Sometimes it works out , some times we would like to have a "re -do" ! : )

I also had a 2.5 in Model 66 stainless snub. I ran into some hard times during a divorce & sold it to my brother years ago(40yrs) . When i got back on my feet I asked him to sell it back to me. Needless to say, he didn't! still makes me mad when I think about it!

That would be a nice one to have. To me the 38/49 gives you all the best features. you can carry in a pocket, not get hung up, but can still cock it for a SA shot for more precision if needed. What 's not to like!

This is probably the fifth or sixth one I have owned. Won't go away anytime soon! Would like to find an open top hi-ride belt holster for outside the pocket carry too.

Galco Con158B, they have it on their site. The Bianchi( in the middle) 105 Minimalist™ Belt Slide Holster w/ Slots is also very good and 1/3 the price. I personally prefer the Galco with the Belt Snaps. It works as well as the other and is much easier to take on and off! The Galco's have the forward slant, the Bianchi does not, however you can also wear the Bianchi cross draw due to its zero cant, which is useful sometimes.

Great little gun. Let my ex- son-in-law have it when he and my daughter got
married. 18 yrs later they go divorced and I find out he'd pawned my m38 and
never went back for it. Not going to go into how PO'd that made me but you

Actually, that's the one Smith in my conglomeration that I actually hate the look of. Note, I keep it because it is a very good handgun for it's purpose, but it is ugly as sin.

I had a .357 S & W airweight revolver. I loaded ii up with .38 specials that I have used in my other .38 revolver. When I fired it, it blew up in my hand.
I sent it to S & W, they sent it back and said they could not / would not help me!

I ask because, most airweights are only rated for std loads. I have never heard of a .357 airweight until recently iwth newer models using titanium etc. What model was it? Original early airweights, the first ones , had an aluminum cylinder, and should never be shot! The newer Smiths have a 640(?) model with a Titanium cylinder, that can handle .357, but i do not know of any older ones? They must of had some reason for not wanting to help? That is a very unusual occurrence, especially in a 'complete failure". They would not say no with out a reason? Whether it was a good reason or not, who knows?

It was a .357 (that is not a standard load.) I was firing .38 specials. I looked at what S&W said - 'Defect in workmanship. Please send $537.00 for a new one.'

That makes absolutely no sense. if it was a defect in workmanship, that is a factory fault? Ther is not way they should ask you to pay for it? Again, what model was it? Were there any modifications to the firearm made that S&W could have used as an excuse to not fix it under warranty?

It could not be fixed. It would have had to be replaced.
The cylinder is cracked + the top of the frame is gone.
