Anyone ever take some of the newer P95 levers and put them on the P89? Or any other combo??

The part numbers in the manuals are the same even though they don't look the same on the "ear" you use to move the lever.

What about any instructions on how to remove / replace the levers. I have not taken the slide apart yet just the frame.

Pointers?

I assume you take the extractor out and the rest just pops apart easy?

Let me know. Thanks,

Roylt,

PM Rnettles or search for his old posts. He loved taking apart the P guns and modifying them. The new low profile levers should work fine to replace the older levers with the ears. I have identical models with both styles factory. There is a video available called compete Ruger P series disassembly and reassembly or something close to that. Google search for it. I have heard good things about the vid and it should cover your topic. Good luck!

Changed them out last night. Also added a 95 trigger to my 89. I was going to use a 94 trigger but they don't fit in the frame properly.

The 95 trigger didn't require any mod at all just dropped it perfectly.

I have read where you need to file a grove in the trigger to get it to fit but with the old style barrel link it works fine.

I'll post pics Monday.

Well here it is. Plain jane blue 89 and my custom blue stainless with 95 decock and trigger. (custom uncle mike grips too)

Thanks. Custom inlayed uncle mike grips.

The decockers and trigger are from a KP95DC.

Who would have ever thought the P series would become the new 10-22 with modifications galore? All this crossing this slide with this gun, this lever on that gun, it's pretty neat all the hybrids being created.

Sorry, I'm some what new to Rugers. I have a KP95, I like the look of the low profile decocker and was wondering if the decocker from the P89DC was interchangeable with the KP95. Thanks in advance for any input.

The DC levers I put on my 89DC are from a 95DC. They are the same on the inside but different on the outside. Depending on the age of your 95 you would get the old style or the new style.

Does that help?

Where do I get my hands on the KP95DC decock lever? And do certain years of manufacture mean diffences in compatibility?

I did it the easy way I bought a P95 and then just swapped the levers from gun to gun. Sold the 95 back off. The 95 trigger came from ebay or gunbroker I forget which.

If your 90 is a decocker the levers should work.

Good luck,

Good luck,

I may do this on my LCP... I want the chrome slide, and I think I scratched up the barrel inside, cleaning it. I may get another LCP and swap those out, then sell.

I just discovered how easy it is to rack the slide by hooking my index and middle fingers over the big P90 decocker lever! I don't think I want to swap this lever out after all!

Still regret selling my Kimber Compact Stainless .40S&W as well as my Sig P229 .40S&W. Didn't regret selling my KP89DC until I saw this thread. I just want it to tinker with and play with the mods. oh well... I did trade off my CZ82, that was a 9x18, but the gun I traded for was a CZ83. (.380) Fortunately no more gun regrets!

I currently dont own any polymer guns. But I might buy another one at the gun show tomorrow. Or who knows maybe I'll find something that I had lost instead.

Take a look on youtube. There are usually a few videos for each model. Look at the video completely before choosing the one you will refer to.
