Embarrassingly this is deleted. Should have thought more on the subject before posting.

Sorry, but that's not a funny story.Yesterday, Sunday, I opened my gun safe and was taking pictures of the CZ I have listed for sale in the classifieds (shameless promotion, I know)
Anyhow, my daughter had a friend over to go swim out back. The gun safe is in the spare bedroom/computer room of our house. My daughter has a lot of games downloaded on the computer, so it's in a "public" space here at the house.
So guns, on the extra chair, I'm in the living room talking with sweetie, and daughter and her friend (another girl) come inside and go into the computer room. All of a sudden, I hear "Wait! What? Oh!"
My daughter knows how to shoot, she doesn't come with me often, but occasionally. But she knows gun safety. At the very basic, she understands if she doesn't touch it, nothing will happen. It's an inert object at that point. Her friend was making funny comments. I've known the other girl for 4 or 5 years and my wife and I are somewhat friends with her parents.
This wasn't a big deal, but at the same time, yeah, it could have been. The other girl could have gone home and told her parents and yikes! I hate to think about that.
Anyway, it's a funny story that thankfully stayed funny and didn't end badly.
Yes you’re right. And believe me, my house isn’t in complete disarray. I only had the gun out to take pictures. It’s my fault for not thinking about my daughter having a friend over at the same time.Sorry, but that's not a funny story.
You are dead on correct.....and that's exactly what they tried to do....and aside from the cost of the trip from MD to UT there were the bills from my lawyer AND her lawyer (which was much higher than my lawyers). Fighting a custody battle across country was not easy and extremely costly.XUSNORDIE the only people who make out in a situation like you described are the lawyers. Today with the antigun hysteria and red flag laws it doesn't take much for a gun owner to lose their rights. Lawyers know that game and play it to try to get the upper hand and to prove the other party as unhinged.
Shakespeare was right! Most lawyers are a contemptible bunch of low life scumbags that rate lower than dog crap in my book. You are dead on correct.....and that's exactly what they tried to do....and aside from the cost of the trip from MD to UT there were the bills from my lawyer AND her lawyer (which was much higher than my lawyers).
