OK, just to make you feel worse; last year I bought a 45 Colt/45 ACP 4 5/8" Bisley with the box and in good condition. I found it in the newspaper for $500. Stainless.

Sorry about that. I was just there at the right time.

Local shop has an ACCU SPORT type stainless BISLEY 45 Colt/45 ACP in stainless steel, 5.5 inch barrel for $550....thinking about going down and putting my allowance in hock for awhile.

OK, if you are still feeling bad, here's a couple of my stories.

I traded a Randall 45 ACP in like new condition for a Ruger 480 with a scope I did not need. Moment of weakness. I only took the Randall with me to show the guy what one looked like.

I sold a Dan Wesson Pistol Pack, 4 barrels, carrying case, belt buckle and arm patch, with less than 100 rounds fired. I needed the money. $500.

Does that make you feel better?

How about this one:

I passed on an original Colt 1911 WWI that I could have traded a camera lens for. Included the G.I. leather holster for the gun, too. The gun's serial number confirmed it to be the third production run of guns. It did see service in WWII (or perhaps Korea), for it had been Parkerized, but it was completely authentic.

I passed on it because I received orders to come to Alaska (from Florida) and figured I would need the 200-500mm lens. I never used the lens since and probably never will (it goes on a film camera) and still wish I had that historical piece.

Feeling better?

We've all missed deals, or had to sell something way too soon or too cheaply. As one of our fine members here likes to say; "if it was meant to be, it will be!"

If I had a dollar for every superdeal I've missed, I could afford to buy 'em all! lol But you know, there's probably another one out there somewhere that someone doesn't realize the value of.

two recent ones....

SS Security Six .357 snub - passed - thought the price was to high - somebody else must have liked the price because it was gone when I checked back - I've have regretted passing ever since, so I don't guess it was too high after all....

Single Six .32 - 5.5" barrel - condition was a little rough - but I was wanting it for a shooter anyway - the price started too high, I dropped in a few weeks later and the price had been reduced, but I didn't have the cash on me - a return trip the next afternoon was too late .....

one from 25+ years ago - before I started paying attention....

I passed on a "Singer" GI 1911 in pretty good shape - didn't want a gun made by a sewing machine company..... Oh well... I guess I'll never live that one down......

Come on over the house and I'll kick ya!
