Hey guys recently i purchased a s4440 thats unfired in the box.Thats the good news but its driving me nuts cause i dont normally have safe queens.Would i really hurt the value if i shoot it or should i just keep looking at it and enjoy it that way?

Is it over 100 years old? Is it a very rare, difficult to find model? Was it once owned by someone famous and does it have documentation to prove that fact? If the answer to any of these questions is no, shooting it will not affect the value one bit. Shoot it.

Yo, Driftwood, the S4440 is a Ruger Blackhawk fitted with a .44-40 cylinder and an "extra" cylinder chambered in .44 mag. Production was rather limited and pristine examples are indeed worth a few dollars.....

Unfortunately, New Model Rugers need to be as pristine as possible to retain any sort of collectible value. Shooting or even "handling wear" will reduce the collector value.
