Contender "barrel" karma!

Back in the day I had a Contender pistol with quite a few barrels so I built this rack to hold them. I no longer have a Contender so no need for this, but I recall a thread a while back where quite a few members indicated that they owned Contenders so figured someone might be able to make use of it. The barrels hang vertically, with the front of the barrel lug resting on the base of the notches, the locking lugs fit in the grooves on top of each "shelf" to keep the barrels from falling out. There are powerful magnets on the back, that stuck to the back of my gun locker. Hopefully someone here can use this.

Hmm,,, interesting. It holds just 11 barrels from what I see. Since I already have a hanging system for my barrels,, I'll pass & let someone else enjoy it. Neat item though!

So do the barrels hang straight down? The lug of the barrel fits into the slot? Is that correct?

It looks very well made and a neat design. But my two measly barrels would make the rack look too empty, and I don’t have plans to add more barrels. Well perhaps one or two more. But that would be all.

Exactly. It might give you motivation to buy some more barrels....

The bottom of the rack sets on the floor or shelf. The magnets only serve to keep it from tipping over.

You (and @Kevin ) may want to reconsider. Contender Barrels tend to multiply. It’s a nice rack.

It stands up tall. You could put other stuff in front of the lower section and put your barrels on the higher exposed section.

I have a box of stuff from that era. There might be a Weaver 92A or two, and perhaps some miscellaneous 'Tender stuff.

Gonna have to do some digging. If there is, I will throw it in the box as well as I have no need for it.

Huge “shout out” to Ruger Forum member @s4s4u… THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT KARMA!

This rack is very well thought-out. The barrels fit perfectly, and are held securely. The slots are staggered, so longer barrels don’t interfere with one another.

My current (monumental) basement cleaning/organizing process continues, including my “Man Cave.” I thought I’d better post a pic of this rack… even though everything here is still a “work in progress.”

I hung the (magnetic) rack up on a cabinet, where it’s easy to get a clear picture. Its permanent home will be lower, with the legs resting on the floor.

The rest of my barrels are currently on frames, so they didn’t make the picture.

s4s4u sent me the rack, and declined my offer to pay for shipping (“that’s part of the deal.”) Added bonus was another Weaver base for Contender barrels!

s4s4u exemplifies what great folks we have for members, here on RF!
