New York’s non-denominational Union Theological Seminary (UTS) held a ceremony Tuesday where members of the community placed plants in the center of the chapel and confessed their sins to them.

“Today in chapel, we confessed to plants,” UTS tweeted, together with a picture of the ritual. “Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.”

“What do you confess to the plants in your life?” it asked:

I'm sorry and don't want to offend anyone, but the term "non-denominational" just turns me off. To me, it signifies they hold to no doctrine.

The teaching of sound doctrine is encouraged in Scripture.

This "Union Seminary" is a scary, scary outfit. I ran across them a while back while researching a young man in North Dakota who was saying some outlandish things and getting some air time. To say Union Seminary has little to nothing to do with the Bible would be a great understatement. At the time their Facebook page proclaimed "God Is Gay." There is be some explaining to do on judgement day.

My old seminary professor in a class on the book of Romans had an acrostic from Paul's statements in chapter one. He said the ungodly hated God, because they:
H - refused to Honor God
A - refused to Acknowledge God
T - refused to Thank God
E - Exchanged the glory of God for that of created things.

Romans 1:21-23

The results are described in the remaining verses of the chapter, and are a perfect description of the depravity of modern culture. Guess there really is "no new thing under the sun."

He also commented on the sharp wit of God through the pen of Isaiah in Isa. 44:14-17:

He cuts down cedars or chooses a holm tree or an oak and lets it grow strong among the trees of the forest. He plants a cedar and the rain nourishes it. Then it can be used as fuel. Part of it he takes and warms himself; he kindles a fire and bakes bread. Then he makes a god and worships it, makes it a carved image and bows down before it. My teacher said God seemed to be saying to these idolaters, "I don't know whether you are burning your God or worshipping your firewood!

Been going on a long time with some of these folks. Most deny the creator, or define him in "their own way." Totally lost!!

Thought you could fool us with that name huh? We know what it is. It will be happier if you feed it a beer in the pot once or twice a year due to it's German ancestry. A Hefeweizen would be best and should be served at room temperature due to it's mixed Anglo/Teutonic ancestry.
Try to avoid eating french fries near it. Something about those will stir up its more militant urges.
