Colt Detective Special ?

Does anybody know for sure if the Detective Special kept the same trigger thru all the years? I bought a DS for my mother in law and she doesn't like the serrated trigger. Normaly no problem, this ones nickeled. Just my luck

I think it's probably the same. I didn't like the grooved one on one of by Diamonback so I got a late smooth one from Numrich and swapped it right in, no problems, no fitting at all.

There must have been at least 2 different triggers. The old Colts were forged and when the DS II and Magnum Carry came out they were either cast or MIM, not sure which. The actions in the latter were different internally so do not know if they would interchange.
