And the name on the fired case envelope is different than other folks with a pink dot. More proof that the dot has nothing to do with the persons name on the envelope.

WAYNO.

My CMD came with an orange dot. The nanny cartridge envelope was signed by James A. Miller, dated 01/22/2013. Interestingly, the cardboard box was not marked specifically with "SR1911" as I've seen in other posts. Was that just first year pistols?

I picked up 2 CMDR's yesterday from the same store, 1 green dot and 1 blue. Both cartridges signed by the same person on 1-30-2013.

My GP has a black dot but it is not a stick on. Somebody just drew a little circle with a black pen and filled it in. I assume Ruger is selling so many guns now they ran out of dots.

I got a Commander last week, baby blue dot. Date on the sample brass envelope 04/26/13
Took it shooting this past weekend, it's a keeper!

My full sized model has a hot pink dot like Rods above does. The fired cartridge envelope was signed 5-15-13 by David Rendon.

my SR1911 CMD has hot pink dot & 8-13-2013 fired date...been shooting 1911s since 1961 & this thing is FINE !!

picked up my new commander this past weekend, pink dot w/ horizontal black line. Fired case 9/28/13. First 1911 and I'm lovin it!

All this talk, ..it is a entertaining topic, yet a curious One at that..why doesn't any one just call ruger and ask?.. I'll call today and post reply.
